About the Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) designation.

BIL Willis has completed the advanced educational and professional requirements to qualify for the Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) designation, the industry's highest professional designation of residential specialty. Only 5 percent of all REALTORS® are Certified Residential Specialists, yet they are involved in 25 percent of residential real estate transactions nationwide.

The CRS Designation recognizes professional accomplishments in both experience and education. The Council has four key objectives:

To enhance members' continuing competence by providing superior educational opportunities in a cost-effective manner. For consumers, this means that CRS Designees are highly trained agents who have a proven track record of handling residential real estate transactions as well as advanced education in related areas such as finance, technology and marketing.

To provide and promote benefits that enhance the economic value of membership in the Council. For consumers, this means that CRS Designees have a referral network of similarly skilled CRS colleagues around the country to whom they can refer home buyers and sellers who are relocating.

To create and maintain organizational systems to ensure the integrity of the Council. For consumers, this means that CRS Designees use the latest technology and keep up with cutting-edge trends to protect and best serve their clients' interests.

To create and maintain procedures to ensure a standard of excellence that is required for earning and maintaining the CRS Designation. For consumers, this means that CRS designees have the skills and commitment to provide them with the highest level of residential real estate expertise and service in their market area.

With a membership of nearly 40,000 Certified Residential Specialists and Candidates/General Members (those pursuing the CRS Designation), the Council of Residential Specialists is the largest not-for-profit affiliate of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®. Founded in 1976, the Council was created to attract and retain those REALTORS® seeking the knowledge, tools and relationship-building opportunities needed to maximize their income and professionalism in residential real estate.
